We got the address from the tourist office in Gent and this turned out to be the best that could happen to us. Birgit and Bart are the friendliest hosts one can imagine and the appartment is far beyond everything we expected. Located near the city centre, we found a pleasant place to relax and enjoy ourselves.
The accomodation is highly recommendable and when ever we return to Gent we would like to stay here again.

    Best wishes

I stayed at b-there during the months of November and December. I found it to be a very comfortable and accommodating place to live for those two months. The apartment is nice–well appointed, with attractive though simple furnishings. The living room/dining area is modern and appealing, with rather high ceilings and lots of window which open to a charming garden area shared with wonderful hosts, Birgit and Bart as well as their children and two beagles, Zouf and Zaza (?). Bart and Birgit where very helpful and friendly, and very accommodating.

I cooked a lot of my own meals, and I found the kitchen to be convenient and quite sufficient for preparing meals for one or two people regularly, and even more upon occasion.

It was nice to have the bedroom and bath upstairs, and that area was just as charming and comfortable as the living area downstairs.

The long entry hall from the street offers a good place hang jackets, remove wet shoes, and even keep a bicycle or two. I did not have a car while staying in Gent, and though I worked a few miles away, in the Sterre area of the city, I was able to get there easily by tram (or bicycle). The tram stop is only two blocks from the flat. Moreover, one can fairly easily walk to the interesting tourists sites in the historic center, perhaps routing oneself through the charming Patersol neighborhood to Vrijdagmarkt to find a good deal on clothing items on Friday morning, or a huge glass of beer at the tavern there that holds one of your shoes until the waiter collects, unbroken, the giant glass tube in which their home brew is served. (Having a pint is safer option.) (Apologies for misspellings of local names.)
